RECENZJE

Wszyscy zainteresowani polską i nie tylko elektroniką mieć to muszą, powinni. Najbardziej konsekwentne i radykalne nagrania neurobotników. Wszystkie zarejestrowane na koncertach.
Track #2 dla mnie jest zaczątkiem do bardzo poważnej dyskusji nad kondycją mentalną polskiej "niezależnej" publiczności. Zarejestrowane odgłosy i obelżywe krzyki od niej dochodzące przyprawiają o zimne dreszcze. Są straszniejsze niż najstraszniejsze nagrania z cold meat industry zmieszane z całym black metalem. Bo nie są żadną bezsensowną grą symboli i dziecinnych wyobrazeń, ale są czystą, przerażającą prawdą obnażającą bezmózgowie "słuchaczy". Fakt, ten koncert z tego co słyszałem był szczególnie pechowy pod względem jakości publiki...
Inne nagrania - wyrafinowany miks elektronicznych znaczeń, sprzężeń, kodów, łamigłówek i rozwiązań. Nowa forma kolektywnej improwizacji na najwyższych, szlifierskich obrotach. Co tu będę gadał - posłuchajcie sami. Ponadto płyta ładnie wydana, zagadkowo. U Polycephala to norma.
Chociaż może w kontekście opisanego przerażającego fragmentu okładka jawi się zbyt mocno soft. Ale to pewnie taki fortel ;-)

NEUROBOT is a starting point for a number of other projects known from the Polycephal label: FACIAL INDEX, WOLFRAM... The joined forces of those are resultant of the styles followed by each project respectively. NEUROBOT combines the threads of dark ambient, noise, heavy electronica, sound experiments and post-production feats. 'Tarcza9800' contains five instances of such neck-breaking conglomerate based on live performances. The first piece is a weird, dark blend of sampling and the treatment thereof: repetitions and somewhat morbid aura of electronic backgrounds. The next one is even more striking: it's a recording of the response from a rude and unfavourably disposed audience who are doing their best to discourage the band. A widely discussed track, it is so impressing not only owing to its contents, but also to an interesting treatment of the recorded sounds. The three remaining pieces, which make up the lion's share of this album, share a certain single feature - they're collective improvisations with most weird sound combinations, abstract rhythm structures, playing with samples (which, willingly applied, give a sort of cinematic feel to NEUROBOT's music) and journeys into various corners of music. A wide range of employed elements, the multitude of ideas and the quickness with which they're being put into practice make you feel contented but also a tad weary of such profusion. The fact is that 'Tarcza9800' is an outstanding presentation of artistic capabilities of the NEUROBOT collective, and its attractiveness is even bigger considering there aren't many works like that here in Poland.
